“Eating after 6pm WILL make you fat…”

How many times have you heard that…?

The amount of people who tell me that eating after 6pm will make you fat is quite shocking and the amount of people who swear by it is even more shocking.

Why do people lose weight when they stop eating after 6pm….?

Think about it.

I hope by now that with all the posts i upload that you know that the reason people gain and lose body fat is due to their calorie intake.

SO, if your typical days looks like this…

7am Breakfast 600 calories

11am Snack 300 calories

2pm Lunch 700 calories

4pm Snack 200 calories

5:30pm Dinner 800 Calories

9pm Snack 550 calories

TOTAL: 3,150

Now, if this is a typical day of eating for you and you decide to STOP eating after 6pm you will literally reduce your calorie intake by around a quarter!

So unless you move that evening snack into your day you will now be in a calorie deficit, thus body fat will begin to reduce.

This had nothing to do with timing and every thing to do with your calorie intake…

IT DOES NOT MATTER what time you eat your food.

If you are over weight and carrying lots of body fat then food timing, supplementation and protein intake are NOT what you need to address.

You need to get your calories under control.

Once you can control how much food you are consuming and have become more active through exercise you enjoy THEN we can start to look at other things like protein intake…

Here are 5x tips i give all my new clients in their first few weeks to try and get to grips with…

1. start counting calories…

– but Arron, counting calories is a sign of OCD!

– Ugh! I brush my teeth, make my bed and wipe my arse every day but you wouldn’t say i have OCD would you…

2. DO NOT restrict on the foods you enjoy…

– if you like some thing eat it BUT add it to your calorie counting app.

3. MOVE MORE…

– find exercise you enjoy and see yourself doing in 3 months time.

– walking, swimming, yoga, zumba, gym, running, home workouts…
