🍏 🍓 🍅 🍆 🥑 🥦 🍑 🍊 🍏 🍓 🍅 🍆 🥑 🥦 🍑 🍊

How many times have you been told the importance of eating more fruit an veg OR have actually been told to your face that you need to eat more fruit and veg…?

🍏Personally i am more of a fruit fan than a veg fan. Put strawberries in front of me and i will eat them all day.

There is a good reason why we should be aiming to eat as much fruit and veg as we can, below are my top reasons.

🥦Also, under my top reasons i have also listed a few different ways you can enjoy your fruit and veg, especially good for those who find it difficult to eat more or who don’t particularly enjoy the taste.

1. PACKED WITH NUTRIENTS

Probably the most obvious and more important.

Fruit and veg are packed FULL of essential vitamins and minerals all needed for a health balanced diet.

Not only that but eating more fruit and veg has been proven to decrease the risk of disease and illness.

2. WILL KEEP YOU FULL FOR A LONG TIME

Due to the level of nutrients fruit and veg will keep your body satisfied for longer and keep you feeling full.

If you are on a fat loss journey adding more fruit and veg to your diet will help massively.

3. RELATIVELY LOW IN CALORIES

For the most part fruit and veg are low in calories per 100g.

This means you will get a high volume of food for a low amount of calories.

Remember calories are calories and if you over eat on fruit and veg you can still gain fat.

Potatoes, squashes, oranges etc are a little higher in calories so be careful and don’t for get to track your calorie intake with My Fitness Pal.

4. THEY ARE VERSATILE

As i will show you below fruit and veg can be used in so many different ways from smoothies to being eaten raw as a snack.

5. HIGH IN FIBRE

They’re an excellent source of dietary fibre, which can help to maintain a healthy gut and prevent constipation and other digestion problems.

6. THERE IS A HUGE VARIETY

You will never get bored with the amount of fruit and veg you can chose from.

7. THEY ARE CHEAP

People always say to me that eating ‘healthy’ is expensive.

BS… go to the shop, look around.

They are cheaper than you think.

8. HELPS WITH RECOVERY AND PERFORMANCE

A well balanced diet high in protein and vitamins and minerals will go along way to helping your performance and recovery if you are some one who exercises correctly.
